Kia ora. Nau mai, Haere mai.

Welcome to Whangamata Area School.

Thank you for visiting our website and taking an interest in our Kura. Our vision is to promote achievement through positive partnerships, and to this end we see Whangamata Area School as an important part of the Whangamata community. As an Area School, students have the opportunity to enjoy their entire schooling journey on our campus, and we believe this allows us to know our students and their needs extremely well. Our school offers a range of educational and extracurricular opportunities, many of these opportunities are in partnership with a range of local clubs and businesses that support our school.

Whangamata is a stunning and unique coastal environment and we work hard to ensure our learning programmes celebrate this. We take pride in the pastoral systems that offer guidance and care for our students throughout their schooling. From teachers to syndicate leaders, and Deans to our Senior Leadership team, we are all committed to ensuring our students achieve to their highest potential. Our school with a growing roll of around 500 students, provides a range of learning programmes that can be tailored to the individual needs of each student.

We do hope you find our website helpful, and if you are visiting to consider whether Whangamata Area School and the Whangamata Community may be a good choice for you and your family, I hope that you are able to easily access the information you require here. Please do not hesitate to contact the school should you require any further information. We also welcome visits to the school at any time.

Nga mihi,
Alistair Luke
