Haere Mai – Welcome

Whangamata Area School is a co-educational school which offers a unique educational opportunity with schooling from year one right through to year 13.

With a roll of 555 students, the school is large enough to have the advantages of a range of specialist teachers and facilities, yet small enough to retain the flexibility and pastoral support individual students need.

Reach Your Goals with Us

Our vision is to provide authentic learning experiences through positive and productive partnerships. These partnerships exist with whanau, students, and a range of local community organisations who support our school. As an area school we offer continuity of education with students developing close relationships with each other and the teachers who support them in their education. Many of our most successful students spend the entire 13 years of their education with us. We are proud of our students and the successes they produce.

Our stunning coastal environment provides a rich range of opportunities for outdoor education and aquatic activities. A range of sporting and cultural opportunities are available to all students and these further enrich our curriculum.
